THE FORMER CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF PRISONS, MR MANYERA, HAS DIED

 

We would like to notify the general public that the former Chief Commissioner of Prisons, Mr Winston Manyera, passed away on the 22^nd of June 2005 at Machinga District hospital, in Machinga, after a long illness.

Mr Manyera, who was Chief Commissioner of the Malawi prison service from 27 February 2000 until his retirement on 30 June 2004, has been suffering from diabetes for a long time. He died in the evening of the 22 June 2005 and was laid to rest in Zomba on 13 June 2005

He was born on the 23rd of June 1949 and is survived by nine children and four grand children.
